LAST MINUTE BUNGALOW

Wine region

Here you don’t find wine factories but connoisseurs who know how you can produce with relatively simple technical equipment and on traditional style wines with character. No one has the same wine.
High-prestige wines you will find direction Beaune when you walk into the villages of Pommard and Meursault. Their world class wines are not priced the same as those you will find in the Couchois.
The Appellation ‘Burgund Cote du Couchois’ is relatevely new (year 2000) and was establish to outperform the ordinary Appellation ‘Burgundy Red Wine’. The quality improvement is accomplished by reducing the production volume to 4000 litres/hectar. The resulting red wine has rich flavours and a spicy taste. In recent years many vintagers of the Couchois gained medals at national or regional wine contests.
You will find 4 types of grape plants in the Couchois:
Pinot Noir (245 Ha.)
Gamay (95 Ha.)
Aligoté (14 Ha.)
Chardonnay (6 Ha.)

They have been planted many years ago around the villages: Couches, Chagny, Dracy-les Couchs, St. Sernin du Plain, St. Jean de Trézy and St-Maurice Les Couches. Names of villages that you will find on the labels of bottles coming from here.
We organise guided wine tours to the cellars of our neighbours. Vineyard excursions with guidance or visits by quads (several trails available with or without driver).
